Do certain areas of the world reach out to you, speak to you as you belong there?  Do you find certain destinations move and inspire you? Maybe it’s because of their beauty, culture or the things that there are to do.  Some people love sun, sea, and sand (I must say I do love that), some like experiencing the great outdoors, but for me, I enjoy experiencing local culture, one inparticular place is the beautiful South of France.

I grew up not so far from France, just across the channel in England.  Back then as a youngster, I didn’t realize what France had to offer, but as a youngster, you don’t realize a lot of things.  As I got older I saw increasingly the multitude of things to do in France. From the beaches of Normandy to the snow-filled mountains of the Alps, to the beautiful coast of the Cote d’Azur and the rolling hills of Provence, it’s a huge country with so much to offer.

When I came across the Provence Wedding Venue tour offered by Coco Kliks of Travellur, I immediately knew I had to be a part of it.  When planning a destination wedding you can do plenty of research online, but it certainly makes a huge difference to get first-hand knowledge.  Seeing venues and meeting the local vendors is a great advantage to knowing exactly what is needed when planning a destination wedding.

The tour was put together beautifully by Coco.  She arranged our accommodation for the 4 nights at the lovely Chateau de Roussan, which we used as our home base.  From there we toured 9 wedding venues in Provence, ranging from small boutique venues to grand venues like Château de Tourreau where Sophie Turner of Game of Thrones and Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers got married.

Accompanying us was Claire Macintyre of Claire Macintyre Photography.  What a delight she was, from taking beautiful photos of the whole experience to entertaining us with her humor, she was such a vibrant great addition to the tour and created so many great memories.

Coco’s philosophy is slow travel, based in Paris she offers a unique selection of tours and retreats for couples and creatives. Coco has traveled many miles and is a wealth of knowledge in addition to being such a joy to be around.  I definitely recommend checking out her upcoming events and if you require something bespoke, she is more than willing to create something special for you.

Venues we visited included, Chateau de Tourreau, Le Mas de la Rose, Chateau de Roussan, Chateau d’Estoublon, Domaine Les Roullets, Le Chateau des Alpilles, Domaine de Fontenille, Chateau Talaud and Clos Saint Esteve.
